3.1 View a weather forecast
Use the detailed forecast to assess weather at the checked location and selected flight time. Detailed weather requires a signed-in subscriber account.
Forecast availability varies with the checked location, selected time, forecast horizon, subscription and platform.
Open the detailed forecast
- Check the proposed location and review the forecast summary in the result.
- Select the available detail control beside Forecast.
- Wait for Weather Forecast to open.
If the selected flight date falls outside the available forecast period, Ok2Fly displays no forecast data. Apple and Android can provide up to ten days; Web displays the forecast period returned by the service.
Review daily conditions
Select All to compare the available forecast days. The daily view can show:
- high and low temperature
- wind speed
- rain or snow
Select a weekday to open the detailed charts for that date.
Review hourly conditions
The selected-day view can include:
- temperature and dew point
- wind speed, gusts and direction
- rainfall or snow
- visibility
- QNH and cloud information
- daylight and twilight shading
Open Show Hourly Weather Details or Forecast Details, when available, to review the values in a table. On a chart that supports inspection, press and hold, then move horizontally to read the values for a time.
Use forecast information safely
WARNING
Forecasts can change and may not represent local hazards. Check current observations, forecasts, warnings and any other official information required for the operation before flight.
The forecast includes Apple Weather attribution. Follow the information control or attribution link when you need the provider details.
Weather radar and lightning layers show recent observations rather than forecasts. See Maps and weather to control those layers.
