4.2 Request an airspace authorisation

Start from a flight check for the intended area, time, altitude, duration and RPA.

Requests can be limited to an advance-planning window set by the service. Use one request for one RPA and confirm that the intended start time remains eligible before submission.

Open the authorisation request

1. Complete the authorisation preparation.
2. Check the proposed flight location or area.
3. Read the complete result and apply any offered lower altitude, shorter duration or later start time only when it is operationally acceptable.
4. Select the response-dependent authorisation action.

Web

Select Authorise Flight Plan after resolving any Accept Max Altitude, Accept New Duration or Accept New Start Time condition.

If no authorisation action is offered, the account or proposed operation is not eligible through this workflow.

Review the request details

Confirm:

• optional Your Reference
• Start Time
• Duration
• Max Altitude
• the selected RPA and its equipment type
• Flight Profile

Choose Automated Grid, Automated Waypoint or Manual, as applicable. The request cannot proceed with an unknown device type, unknown flight profile, no selected RPA, a past start time or a non-positive duration.

Ok2Fly can shorten the requested period to remain within available daylight. Review the resulting start and end times before submission.

Make the declaration and submit

WARNING

Submit only if you are authorised to act as Chief Remote Pilot for the ReOC, the selected RPA and operation meet the displayed weight and eligibility requirements, all request details are true, and you understand and will comply with the declaration and applicable rules.

1. Read the complete declaration.
2. Confirm the selected RPA and flight profile again.
3. Submit the request.

Retain the authorised request

Android Apple Web

On Request Authorised, review the authorisation ID, status, approved device, area, times, maximum altitude, conditions and terms.

WARNING

The approval applies only to the returned device, area, time period, maximum altitude and conditions. Do not apply it to another operation.

Android

Select Save / Print Approval and use the Android print service to print or save the approval, then return to the map.

Apple

Use the share control to create and retain the approval PDF through the iOS or iPadOS share sheet, then select Acknowledged.

Web

Select Save to export the approved area in the configured geometry format. Select Print to print or save the authorisation PDF, then select Acknowledged.
