Use these illustrated examples to identify selected operational and reference features on the Ok2Fly map.

Recognise airfield envelopes

An uncontrolled airfield envelope extends three nautical miles from the airport reference point, or from the runway ends where that data is available.

A heliport envelope extends 0.75 nautical miles from the heliport reference point.

A controlled airfield envelope extends three nautical miles from the runway ends. Its presentation can depend on the selected pilot type.

Recognise runway splays

Android Apple Web

A runway splay identifies an approach and departure area relative to a runway end. Red cross-hatching identifies a no-fly area. Black cross-hatching identifies an area with a 300-foot or 91-metre height limit.

Recognise restricted airspace

Android Apple Web

Inactive restricted airspace uses a red outline. When active for the selected flight time, it uses a red border and dotted fill.

Recognise danger areas

Recognise NOTAM areas

Ok2Fly can depict supported NOTAMs that define an area of activity, including UA, low-level-route and fireworks notices. An inactive NOTAM area uses a bright-yellow outline. When active for the selected flight time, it adds a red dotted fill. NOTAM timing can also affect whether restricted airspace or a danger area is shown as active.

Recognise infrastructure and activity

Android Apple Web

Purple zigzag lines follow high-voltage powerline routes. At higher zoom levels, the map can add route labels and approximate dimensions.

Emergency-services activity can use an icon for fire, ambulance, rescue or unknown activity. Where an affected area is available, the map can also show an outline and fill.

Recognise an automated-authorisation grid

Android Apple Web

Eligible users can see hexagonal automated-authorisation cells in supported areas. Each cell shows the maximum altitude available for an automated request at that location.
