7.7 Troubleshoot Dynon SkyView

Work through the checks for the observed problem. If a step does not restore the connection, continue with the actions in order.

Dynon information is absent from the status page

Apple

Check that:

• The Apple device is connected to SkyView Wi-Fi.
• SkyView is powered on and has completed start-up.
• The correct Wi-Fi adapter is installed and configured.
• The Dynon connection is enabled in Settings > External Devices > Dynon Status.

Then turn the Dynon connection off and on in AvPlan EFB. If the status remains unavailable, restart SkyView, followed by AvPlan EFB.

GPS information is unavailable

Apple

Complete the connection checks above, then confirm that:

• Use Dynon As GPS Source is on.
• The SkyView GPS is installed and operational.

Turn Use Dynon As GPS Source off and on. If necessary, restart SkyView, followed by AvPlan EFB.

The Dynon share option is absent

Apple

Complete the connection checks above, then scroll through the entire share menu. If Send Flight Plan to Dynon remains absent, turn the Dynon connection off and on, then restart SkyView and AvPlan EFB if required.

A flight plan cannot be sent

Apple

Complete the connection checks above. Turn the Dynon connection off and on, then restart SkyView and AvPlan EFB if required.

SkyView reports a flight-plan error

Apple

For Send Failed, Configuration Failed or Error messages:

1. On SkyView, open MAPS > MAP MENU > FLIGHT PLAN OPTIONS.
2. Confirm that ALLOW INCOMING FLIGHT PLANS OVER WI-FI is enabled.
3. Turn the Dynon connection off and on in AvPlan EFB.
4. Restart SkyView if the error continues.

Synthetic Vision does not respond to attitude changes

Apple

Complete the connection checks above, then confirm that:

• Use Dynon As AHRS Source is on.
• The SkyView AHRS source is installed and operational.

Turn Use Dynon As AHRS Source off and on. If necessary, restart SkyView, followed by AvPlan EFB.

SkyView starts with an unexpected map

Apple

1. Confirm that the chart USB drive is installed. Insert it and restart SkyView if required.
2. If the drive is installed, the map name may have changed. Follow Display AvSoft maps to select the required layer.

Older SkyView models may not support a default-map setting.

SkyView remains on the start-up screen

Apple

If the aircraft uses a SanDisk USB 3.1 drive and SkyView software earlier than version 16, follow the USB guidance in Prepare for a Dynon update.

SkyView does not recognise the USB drive

Apple

Confirm that the USB drive is no larger than 32 GB and is formatted as FAT32. See Prepare for a Dynon update.
