Terminal tab

The Terminal tab displays detailed information about a particular location.

The last-viewed location will be displayed.

To view a different place:

• Tap the book icon in the top-right corner.
• Search for the full name or identifier code
• Tap its row in the results list to view that place

The Weather/NOTAMs page on the Terminal tab (see above) displays the plan details at that flight plan leg, plus applicable NOTAM and decoded TAF/METAR information.

It includes the beginning of daylight (BOD) and end of daylight (EOD) for the current day at that location. Times are in UTC and correspond to the beginning and end of civil twilight.

Communications information and winds aloft information (if the point is a leg in the current flight plan) is also displayed on the Weather page.

Plain English weather

Tap the MET option to view the TAF, METAR, TTF METAR and/or ATIS for your airport.

Each one is broken out into its separate parts.

Notable features:

• The METAR column includes a density altitude calculation
• Current periods, INTERs or TEMPOs in the TAF are highlighted when they are active
• The Temperature and QNH table includes the interpolated value for the current time
• Nearby TAFs and METARs are accessible with just one tap

NOTAM

Each NOTAM will appear on its own card.

The age of the NOTAMs can be quickly established visually:

Less than 8 hours since issued	NOTAM card shaded yellow
Less than 2 weeks since issued	NOTAM card contains a black bar down the left-hand edge
More than 2 weeks since issued	NOTAM card completely white

Phone numbers within the text are highlighted. Tap them to begin a phone call to that number with the dialer/phone app.

The status is displayed at the bottom of each card in red text.

Winds

This page displays the forecast winds and temperatures at various levels above that point

Sat

This option displays a Google Maps satellite view of the position, which can be helpful for preflight awareness of the surroundings.

RAIM

This option produces a RAIM (GPS signal integrity) report for major airports in Australia.

Charts

A list of available documents and their Saved/Not Saved status for this place.

Tap the row of your desired document to view it. If the document is not downloaded, the app will download (data connectivity required) and save that document to the device.

Apple

The Terminal tab displays information about a location within the flight plan, or about any other location that has been selected even if it is not in the plan.

There is a presentation of some common information above a row of tabs.

The common information consists of

• A magenta airport symbol shows the published orientation/s and relative lengths (north-up)
• The Location Identifier and Name
• The location Latitude and Longitude
• A rifle scope button to take you directly to the location in the Enroute (maps) pane
• The Beginning (BOD) and End of Daylight (EOD) values (UTC) at the location (for today)
• The location Elevation in feet AMSL
• If the location has a weather camera, a Camera icon will displayed beside the BoD/EOoD.

INFO

Please note that AvPlan does not currently calculate BOD or EOD for future dates.

Weather Cams

Tapping on the Weather Cam icon will access the camera images directly.

Weather cams can also be accessed via the Enroute pane if Weather Cams are turned on in Weather Options, and via a Waypoint Details pop-up window when it has been opened by tapping on a chart.

Weather cams can be zoomed by a standard two finger zooming gesture. When zoomed, the images can be panned with a single finger swiping motion

IFR/VFR

If the location is part of the current flight plan there are buttons to indicate whether the the current leg is to be flown VFR or IFR, and to allow changing from one to the other at that point in the plan.

Land/Overfly/New Stage

There are also buttons to add a planned Landing at the location, or to delete a planned landing and Overfly it. If the location is the last point in a plan the Overfly button changes to a New Stage button, which can be used to copy the location at the end of the plan and start a new stage.

Printing

Any page displayed in the Terminal pane can be printed by simply tapping on the printer icon when the page is open. This includes ERSA, RDS, DAP, Country Airstrip guide pages and SUPS.

Web

Terminal is where airport and navigation point details are reviewed, including communications, weather, runway wind, NOTAMs, winds, satellite view, fuel, airport charges, RAIM, and charts.

Quick Start

1. Open Terminal, or go to /terminal.
2. Search for an airport or navigation point using a four-letter ICAO code or airport name.
3. Select the required result.
4. Review the header for the terminal name, elevation, coordinates, first light, and last light when shown.
5. Use COM, MET, RWY, NTM, WND, SAT, FBO, RAIM, or Charts to review the available details.
6. Use WX Camera when a weather camera is available.
7. Use Show on Map to open the location on the En Route map.

INFO

Tabs are disabled when the selected terminal does not have data for that section.

WARNING

Terminal information supports pre-flight and operational review. Always confirm operational decisions against current approved charts, briefings, NOTAMs, weather, and airport data.

Searching for Airports and Navaids

Select the Book icon (on the top right of the screen) to display an interface for searching information about any airport (or navigational aid not associated with an airport).

Tapping the book icon brings up two columns: on the left, a list of either the nearest airports/heliports or the airports in the currently plan, depending on what has been selected, with a search field at the top. On the right, a list of favourite aerodrome plates, if any have been selected, and a list of plates etc associated with the most recently selected aerodrome named at the top of the column.

With the Nearby option selected, you can tap in the search field and either search for the identifier or the full name of a location to bring it up. If Plan has been selected, searching will be restricted to waypoints that are in the plan.

When an airport or navigational aid can be found, the right column displays available documents for that location, including

• All “Favourites” that have been created (for any location- not just the search location)
• Weather and NOTAMs for the location, if data exist, and a current weather indication tool if the location has a METAR/SPECI
• Associated ERSA FAC and RDS pages
• Apron charts if they exist
• DAPs (Airport diagrams and Procedural charts)
• Country Airstrip Guide page if there is one (only if the CAG has been subscribed to)
• User documents that have been associated with the terminal via DropBox

Scroll the list down/up if there are many listed documentslisted.

Setting, and getting quick access to favourites

Tap the star icon to the right of the page you wish to always appear at the top of the list, regardless of which field is selected at the time.

To un-star a page, tap the star once again and it will disappear from the favourites.

Two-finger swipe for rapid plate access

To get quickly to favourite plates for the currently selected airport from anywhere in the airport’s terminal section, use a two-finger swipe . The first swipe will take you to the first of any favourites plates. Further two-finger swipes take you to the next or previous favourite. A single finger swipe acts as normally and simply moves to the next or previous terminal chart.

• Tap the icon to begin a count-up timer.
• Tap again to stop
• Tap a third time to reset to zero

Troubleshooting Terminal

Use this section when Terminal does not show the expected location or details.

If Search Does Not Find the Terminal

1. Check the ICAO code or airport name.
2. Try searching by ICAO code first.
3. Confirm the location exists in the available data.
4. Refresh the page and try again.

If a Tab Is Disabled

1. Confirm the selected terminal has loaded.
2. Check whether the terminal has data for that tab.
3. Select another terminal to compare available data.
4. Refresh the page if the tab should have data but remains unavailable.

If Weather or Winds Do Not Load

1. Check your internet connection.
2. Confirm the selected terminal has coordinates.
3. Try another nearby terminal.
4. Refresh the page if the loading state does not clear.

If WX Camera Is Missing

1. Confirm the selected terminal has a weather camera.
2. Check the MET tab for nearby METAR and camera entries.
3. Try a nearby camera entry if the selected terminal has no camera.

If Show on Map Does Not Work

1. Confirm the selected terminal has coordinates.
2. Refresh the page and select the terminal again.
3. Open En Route manually and search or pan to the location if needed.

If Charts Do Not Preview

1. Select the chart again.
2. Confirm your browser allows the preview dialog.
3. Try another chart entry.
4. If an unsupported file warning appears, use another available source for that document.

WARNING

If Terminal data looks incomplete or stale, refresh the page and confirm current operational information from approved sources.
