Plan a flight

Planning brings together the tasks used to prepare a flight. Work through the applicable items before syncing, filing or printing the plan.

The available tasks include:

• create a new flight plan
• aircraft loading, weight and balance, and fuel planning
• user waypoint management
• SARTIME and ICAO flight-plan submission through NAIPS
• deleting a NAIPS plan and managing SARTIME.

Some tasks remain unavailable until a flight plan contains at least one waypoint.

After the first waypoint is added, the available tasks can include:

• importing a filed plan
• optimising cruise altitude
• aircraft loading, weight and balance, and fuel planning
• reviewing special-use airspace and flight-status messages
• managing user waypoints
• requesting a route briefing
• viewing and printing the flight-plan form and load sheet
• managing SARTIME or submitting an ICAO flight plan
• printing or sending flight-plan, weather and airport pages
• exporting the flight to LogTen Pro.

Web

Planning is where flight plans are created, edited, checked, briefed, filed, printed, and synced to devices.

Create or open a plan

1. Open Planning.
2. Select a plan under Flight Plans, or select New.
3. Select the Aircraft and, when available, a Performance Profile.
4. Set Flight Rules to VFR or IFR.
5. Enter the route for the selected Stage and set the ETD.
6. Review altitude, LSALT, winds, fuel, distance and ETA in the stage summary.
7. Complete the applicable planning tabs and confirm the plan before syncing, filing or printing it.

INFO

The editor uses Loading..., Draft, Pending and Recalculating to show the plan's load, save and recalculation state. Synced means the latest saved plan is available to linked devices, but does not confirm that a device has downloaded it. When the latest saved plan is not available to devices, no device-status tag is shown in the editor.

Confirm the selected Stage before changing, filing or submitting a multi-stage plan.
