1.1 First steps with AvPlan EFB

Prepare your account, aircraft and offline data before creating your first flight plan.

Install AvPlan EFB

AvPlan EFB is available from the app store for your device.

1. Open Play Store from the Home screen.
2. Select the search field, enter AvPlan EFB, then run the search.
3. Select AvPlan EFB from the results.
4. Select INSTALL.

WARNING

You may need to enter your Google account password before the download begins.

5. When installation finishes, select Open.

Apple

1. Open App Store from the Home screen.

2. Select Search at the bottom-right of the screen.

3. Select the search field, enter AvPlan EFB, then run the search.

4. Select AvPlan EFB, then select GET.

WARNING

You may need to enter your Apple ID password before the download begins. If required, recover it through Apple Support.

5. When installation finishes, select Open.

If AvPlan EFB was previously downloaded with this Apple ID, a cloud download button may appear instead of GET. Both buttons install the app.

Even if you purchased a subscription through the AvPlan website, install the app from your platform's app store. After installation, select AvPlan EFB from the Home screen.

Create an account

Android Apple Web

Create an AvPlan account during the mobile app's initial opening sequence or from the AvPlan Web login page. If you already have an account, continue to Sign in.

1. Select the region or regions in which you will fly.
2. Follow the prompts to create your AvPlan account.

Apple

1. On the welcome screen, select the option to create a new account.

2. Continue to the registration screen.

3. Read the end-user licence agreement, then select Accept.

4. Enter the email address to use as your AvPlan username and choose a password.

Use a personal email address that you expect to retain. Record your password securely.

5. Select Register. If you discover that you already have an account, return to Sign In instead.

6. Select your default data area or areas.

7. Continue to Settings and download the chart data you require.

Web

1. Open AvPlan Web and select Login.
2. On the Login to AvPlan page, select Sign Up.
3. Under Create an AvPlan Account, enter a valid email address in Email.
4. Enter a password of at least six characters in Password, then enter the same password in Confirm Password.
5. Complete the CAPTCHA, then select Create Account.
6. When the account is created, AvPlan Web signs you in automatically. If automatic sign-in fails, sign in with the email address and password you just entered.

Sign in

Android Apple Web

Sign in with the email address and password associated with your AvPlan account.

1. Wait for the blue welcome screen to appear.
2. Review any subscriptions displayed on the screen.
3. If the app remains on this screen, select Login Details.
4. Sign in with your AvPlan credentials.

WARNING

If you purchased a subscription through the AvPlan website, use the same email address in the app so the subscription can be associated with your account.

1. On the welcome screen, open the sign-in page.
2. Sign in with your AvPlan credentials.

Web

1. Open AvPlan Web and sign in with your AvPlan account.
2. If sign-in fails, select Forgot Password? and follow the recovery instructions.
3. Confirm that the top navigation is visible. Subscriber features can include Terminal, Weather and Text.
4. Open Settings > Help for walkthroughs and release information.
5. To finish, open Settings and log out.

Only one AvPlan Web session can be active for each user.

Configure an aircraft

Android Apple

Use Settings > Aircraft Type Database to select an aircraft type from the online database. If a suitable type is unavailable, create an aircraft type.

Android

Set up the required aircraft details and callsign.

Apple

1. Create an individual aircraft from the selected type.
2. Confirm the aircraft's callsign before planning.

Download data and add filing details

Android Apple

1. Open Settings > Data Downloads.
2. Download the maps and airport documents you require so they remain available offline.
3. Open Settings > Pilot profile (Create your profile).
4. Enter your NAIPS or IFIS login details under NAIPS or IFIS Details.

Create and submit a flight plan

1. Create a flight plan.
2. Select the aircraft callsign and confirm its details.
3. Submit the flight plan.
4. Continue to Go flying.

Language settings

Apple

AvPlan uses the device language to choose some default units and region-specific terminology. For example, US English can display decoded atmospheric pressure in inches of mercury rather than hectopascals.
