5.7 Charts and plates

Open the documents associated with an airport, then use the available chart tools to annotate, print or place a georeferenced chart on the map.

Open a chart or plate

Chart availability depends on the selected airport, installed data and subscription.

Android

1. Open the required airport in Terminal.
2. Select the required chart or plate.

1. Open Terminal and select the required airport.
2. Select Select Charts in the Terminal toolbar.
3. Choose the required ERSA, DAP, AIP, runway-distance, apron, arrival, departure or approach document.
4. Swipe left or right to move through the available documents.

Select the chart list again when you want to jump directly to another document.

Apple 9.x

1. Open Terminal and select the required airport.
2. Swipe from right to left to move through the available ERSA, DAP, AIP, runway-distance, apron, arrival, departure and approach documents.
3. To open the document strip, touch the screen once with three fingers.
4. Swipe through the thumbnails and select the required document. Touch the screen again with three fingers to close the strip without changing documents.

Web

1. Open the required terminal and select Charts.
2. Select a document from the list.
3. Use the preview controls to zoom, rotate or move between PDF pages where available.
4. Close the preview when finished.

The Charts tab is unavailable when the selected terminal has no documents.

Use ActivePlates

On supported RNP approach plates, ActivePlates adds live situational information to the document. Availability is shown as ActivePlate Available, ActivePlate N/A or ActivePlate Disabled.

The live strip can show:

• the aircraft’s groundspeed
• the required rate of descent
• the required altitude
• the surface wind.

The plate can also show aircraft position on the vertical profile, the applicable MSA sector and the inbound holding course when that information is available.

Use chart tools

• Select Weather to show the available weather information with the chart.
• Select Favorite Chart to add or remove the current chart from favourites.
• Select Annotate Chart to draw, highlight or add text. Select Done when finished.
• Select Clear Chart to remove saved annotations from the current chart.

Annotations remain attached to the chart until cleared. Review them when a chart is replaced, because a changed chart layout may place an existing annotation over different content.

The plate-options screen shows whether georeferencing is Available or N/A. A georeferenced plate also shows the current GPS accuracy.

To annotate a chart:

1. Open the plate options and select Annotate Chart, or double-tap the plate.
2. Select the pencil for freehand marks, Text for typed text or the palette to change colour.
3. Use Undo to remove the most recent change or the delete control to clear the annotations.
4. Select Done when finished.

Show chart on map

Only georeferenced documents can be placed on the map.

1. Open the required plate.
2. Select Show Chart on Map.
3. Use the opacity slider to adjust the overlay.
4. Select CLEAR to remove it.

1. Open the required georeferenced plate.
2. Open the plate options and select Show Chart on Map.
3. Adjust the overlay opacity in En Route.
4. Select Clear when the chart is no longer required.

Showing a georeferenced plate on the map may require a Plus or Premium subscription.

Print or export a chart

Open the chart and select Print. The device print interface may also provide a PDF export option.

Open the chart and select the print control in the Terminal toolbar. For a combined document package, use Reports and printing.

Open the PDF preview, then use the browser or PDF viewer's print and download controls.
