9.3 Link and review track logs

Add several track logs to an entry

Web

WARNING

If a selected track is already linked to another entry, the review combines that whole entry and its other tracks, using its saved values once. Photos, achievement links and compatible duty links move to the entry you keep. The other entry is removed from active records and its share links stop working.

  1. Save the entry, open its three-dot Entry actions menu and select Add track logs.
  2. Tick the flights to include, then select Review. Use the page controls to browse the matching flights; your selections are retained when changing pages. Flights must use the same aircraft.
  3. Choose Add values to add the individual flights' times and operation counts, or Link only to keep the entry's saved times and counts.
  4. Under Track details, check each aircraft and clock time, including tracks already linked to the entry. Use Use entry aircraft to copy the entry’s registration, or edit Aircraft. Enter a missing departure in Take-off or Out; you can also correct Landing and In. These fields use UTC. Select Refresh preview after making changes and resolve any remaining errors.
  5. Compare Saved, Incoming and After saving. Time and count rows with zero in all three columns are hidden. Review choices for crew, flight rules, remarks and other details. Check any warning about overlapping flight times. Use Back to tracks at the top left to change the selected flights.
  6. Select Save when the combined entry is correct.

Corrections are saved with the logbook entry when you select Save. They do not change the original track recording or recalculate flight durations and counts. Link only also keeps the entry’s saved clock times. If the entry’s aircraft, flight date or timezone is incorrect, close the review, edit and save the entry, then add the tracks again.

Track logs already attached to this entry have a green Already linked tag beside the flight details and cannot be selected again.

The table includes the entry's flight date and 14 hours either side to allow for timezone differences. Each track's Date uses the entry's timezone. A flight may finish after midnight.

Select a route in the selection table or a flight in the review to open its track log in a new browser tab. You can also select a route under Track logs in an opened entry. The current entry and any selections remain open in the original tab.

If the same track is associated with duplicate entries, resolve those with Find duplicates before adding values. Find duplicates does not add flight totals.

When the added flights continue from the saved destination in time order, Destination Aerodrome suggests the final flight's destination. Choose Keep saved to retain the existing destination. Recorded take-offs and landings are included automatically without a separate review choice.

Combined times add the individual flight durations. The earliest departure and latest arrival describe the day's activity; gaps between flights do not become flying time. Clock-based autofill is disabled for combined durations.

Review linked tracks

Web
  1. Open an entry with linked tracks.
  2. Expand Track logs to see the linked flights. Select a route to open its track log in a new browser tab.
  3. Use Track Selected: to choose the track for metrics, charts, events and playback.

The map draws each track separately with its own colour, start and finish markers. Each dropdown option shows the track's time, route and colour. If one track fails to download, available tracks remain visible and the failed track offers Retry.

When placing a photo or video by flight time, choose a track if flight intervals overlap. A time between separate flights cannot be used to estimate a location.

Web

Save or discard unsaved edits first. Locked or signed entries cannot have their track links changed.

  1. Open the entry. If it is in view mode, select Entry actions > Edit.
  2. Expand Track logs and select the red Unlink tag beside the flight.
  3. Confirm that you want to remove the link.

Saved times, landing counts, events, photos, videos and achievements remain, along with the original track log.
