Use Weather

Android Apple Web

Use Weather to browse the forecasts, charts and imagery available to the signed-in account. Available Australian products can include graphical area forecasts, area briefings, NAIPS and Bureau of Meteorology charts, satellite imagery, SIGWX, GPWT, surface-pressure and wind forecasts. New Zealand products can include MetFlight GA, MetJet, satellite imagery, surface conditions, GRAFOR, SIGMET, SIGWX and wind forecasts.

Android

1. Open Weather.
2. Expand the required region, then tap a product to open it.
3. Tap Close when finished.

Android can also list United States cloud and surface forecasts, SIGWX, PIREPs, surface analysis and winds, and worldwide satellite imagery.

Apple

1. Open Weather.
2. Select a product from the list.
3. To print a product highlighted in green, open it and tap the printer button.
4. Tap Close when finished.

Web

1. Open Weather, or go to /weather.
2. Wait for Weather Charts to load.
3. Select a folder from the chart menu.
4. Use Search to filter charts in the selected folder.
5. Select a chart thumbnail or chart name to open Preview.
6. Close the preview when finished.

Weather chart folders are based on the regions available to your signed-in account.

WARNING

Weather charts support pre-flight and operational review. Always confirm current weather and briefing information from approved sources before flight.

Regions and Folders

Web

Weather chart folders are loaded for the regions assigned to the signed-in user.

Regions

• Australia can appear for the YMMM/YBBB region.
• New Zealand can appear for the NZZZ region.
• United States of America can appear for the KZZZ region.
• Worldwide can appear for the ZZZZ region.
• Other region codes may appear

Single-region Accounts

• If only one region is available, the menu lists that region’s chart folders directly.
• Select a folder to show its charts.

Multi-region Accounts

• If multiple regions are available, the menu groups chart folders under each region.
• Use the region rows to expand or collapse folder groups.
• Select a folder inside a region to show its charts.

Folder Controls

• Use Expand Folders to open all folder groups.
• Use Collapse Folders to close open folder groups.
• Folder controls are disabled while chart data is loading or when no expandable groups exist.

INFO

Folder order and chart folder names come from the available weather chart data.

Searching Charts

Web

Use Search to filter the charts shown in the selected folder.

Search Workflow

1. Select a weather chart folder.
2. Type part of a chart name into Search.
3. Review the filtered chart grid.
4. Clear Search to show all charts in the selected folder again.

Search Behaviour

• Search filters chart names in the currently selected folder.
• Search is case-insensitive.
• Selecting a different folder applies the current search text to the new folder.

INFO

Search does not change the selected folder; it only filters the charts displayed for that folder.

Chart Grid and Pagination

Web

The chart grid displays preview thumbnails and names for charts in the selected folder.

Chart Cards

• A chart card shows a thumbnail when one is available.
• If no thumbnail is available, the card shows No preview available.
• The chart name appears under the preview area.
• Select a chart card to open the chart preview.

Pagination

• The chart grid shows up to 20 rows per page by default.
• Use the pagination controls to move between pages.
• The page report shows the visible range and total record count.

Empty Results

• If a selected folder has no charts matching Search, the chart grid will have no matching chart cards.
• Clear or change Search to broaden the results.

INFO

Thumbnail availability depends on the chart data returned for the selected folder.

Opening Previews

Web

Preview opens the selected weather chart in a window.

Open a Preview

1. Select a chart folder.
2. Select the chart thumbnail or chart name.
3. Wait for the chart to load.
4. Review the chart in Preview.
5. Close the dialog when finished.

Supported Files

• PDF charts open in the browser PDF previewer.
• Image charts open as images.
• Unsupported files show an Unsupported file warning.
• If the chart has no file URL, the page shows Missing file URL.

Network and Browser Handling

• If the chart cannot be loaded because of a network or browser issue, the chart may open in a new browser tab.
• Other loading failures show Error loading preview.

WARNING

Previewed charts should be checked for currency, validity, and source before operational use.

Mobile Layout

Web

On small screens, Weather uses a drawer menu so the chart list has more space.

Menu

• Press Menu to open or close the folder drawer.
• The drawer header shows Weather Charts.
• Select a folder from the drawer to load charts.
• After selecting a folder, the drawer closes automatically on small screens.

Search and Preview

• Search remains available in the header.
• Chart cards stack into fewer columns on smaller screens.
• Preview opens in a dialog sized for the current screen.

If you cannot see the folder list on a small screen, press Menu.

Troubleshooting Weather

Web

Use this section when Weather does not show the expected chart folders or previews.

If Weather Redirects to Login

1. Confirm you are signed in.
2. Sign in again if your session expired.
3. Return to /weather.

If Chart Folders Do Not Load

1. Check your internet connection.
2. Refresh the page.
3. Confirm your account has weather chart regions assigned.
4. Wait for the loading spinner to finish.

If a Region Is Missing

1. Confirm the signed-in account has access to that region.
2. Refresh the page after any account or subscription change.
3. Contact support if the region should be available but does not appear.

If Search Finds No Charts

1. Confirm a chart folder is selected.
2. Clear Search.
3. Try a shorter chart name or keyword.
4. Select another folder to compare results.

If a Chart Does Not Preview

1. Select the chart again.
2. Check whether the browser opened the chart in a new tab.
3. Confirm the chart has a valid file URL.
4. Try another chart to confirm whether the issue affects one chart or all charts.

WARNING

If weather chart data appears incomplete or stale, refresh the page and confirm current operational weather from approved sources.
