Manage pilot profiles

Pilot profiles store the identity and contact details used for briefing and flight-plan filing.

Apple

Enter the pilot's name and contact details. Enter a pilot-specific Callsign only when it is operationally required.

The pilot Callsign overrides the aircraft callsign in every plan submitted with this profile. Leave it empty unless your operation assigns callsigns to pilots.

Web

1. Open Pilot Profiles from the account menu.
2. Select a personal profile from Pilot Profile, or select New.
3. Enter the pilot's identity, contact details and submission credentials.
4. Select Save & Set as Used Profile to save and activate the profile.

The selector also includes profiles shared by the enterprise groups you belong to. A shared profile is labelled with its group name, for example Alex Pilot (Operations Team).

To use a shared profile, select it and then select Set as Used Profile. Its details are read-only here; a group administrator must make changes under the group’s Settings page.

Shared group profiles also appear in the Pilot Profile selector when filing a plan. AvPlan can select a personal or group profile whose pilot callsign matches the flight’s aircraft callsign. Route Briefing uses the same matching or active profile when choosing NAIPS or IFIS credentials.

Enter pilot details

1. Open Settings > User Settings.
2. Under Pilot Details, enter Pilot Name and Pilot Phone.
3. Leave User Settings after confirming the values.

Android stores one set of pilot details rather than a list of named pilot profiles.

NAIPS/IFIS credentials

Store the credentials used for briefing and filing.

Android

1. Open Settings > User Settings.
2. Under Pilot Details, select NAIPS Details.
3. Enter NAIPS Username and NAIPS Password, then validate the credentials.
4. Use Manage Password and Change Password when a NAIPS password must be changed.
5. Enter IFIS Username and IFIS Password directly under Pilot Details when filing in New Zealand.

Apple

Enter the pilot's NAIPS or IFIS credentials. With an internet connection, AvPlan checks the credentials and displays the pilot details when the check succeeds. An error is displayed when the check fails.

IFIS prevents sign-ins from outside New Zealand, so valid IFIS details may still return an error when used elsewhere.

Web

Enter the pilot's NAIPS or IFIS credentials in the profile used for briefing and filing. NAIPS fields appear when the Australian data region is active; IFIS fields appear when the New Zealand data region is active.

Enter GoPreFlight details for New Zealand

When the New Zealand data region is active, each pilot profile can store the GoPreFlight account used to retrieve New Zealand meteorological data.

1. Open Pilot Profiles from the account menu.
2. Select a personal profile from Pilot Profile, or select New.
3. Under GoPreFlight details for New Zealand Pilots, enter the GoPreFlight Username and GoPreFlight Password.
4. Select Save & Set as Used Profile.
5. Check the displayed GoPreFlight subscription. If AvPlan cannot verify the credentials, correct the details and save the profile again.

WARNING

A Premium GoPreFlight account is required to view SIGMETs in New Zealand on AvPlan Web.

GoPreFlight details in a shared group profile are read-only for group members. A group administrator must update them under the group’s Settings page.

NAIPS password expiry

Airservices Australia expires NAIPS passwords every six months. AvPlan checks the credentials when the app starts and can prompt you to change a password that is approaching expiry. This prompt is offered once per app session.

If the prompt was dismissed, restart AvPlan while connected to the internet to receive it again. If the password has expired, change it on the NAIPS website and then update the pilot profile in AvPlan.

Record pilot capabilities

Use this field to populate an RMK/ entry for an Australian Private Instrument Rating (PIR, sometimes referred to as PIFR) and its Flight Procedure Approvals (FPAs). Do not enter RMK/; AvPlan adds it when the plan is submitted. Refer to AIP ENR 1.10–33 for the required format.

Leave this field empty for a full Instrument Rating (IR, previously known as a command rating).

WARNING

Take care not to put double spaces between the FPAs. NAIPS may refuse to process a double space.

Manage multiple pilots

Enterprise administrators can maintain multiple pilot profiles for shared devices.

• To add a profile, select +.
• To delete a profile, swipe left on the pilot's name and select Delete.
• To edit a profile, select its information button.
• To set the default pilot, select the pilot's name. The default profile is used for flight-plan submissions and appears on load sheets.

Setting a crew member name in the flight-planning weight and balance section does not change the default pilot profile.

Pilot profiles sync between devices by default. To stop this, turn on Disable User Content Syncing under Settings > User Settings.
