View graphical area forecasts

Use the interactive GAF map to identify forecast regions and read the conditions for a selected subdivision.

Android

1. Open Weather > Graphical Area Forecasts.
2. Select 0-6 HR or 6-12 HR.
3. Zoom the map to move between the regional overview and interactive subdivisions.
4. Select a region in the overview to open the published GAF, or select a subdivision in the interactive view to read its forecast text.

Apple

Apple 10.x

1. Open Weather > Graphical Area Forecasts.
2. Select the required validity period at the top of the map.
3. Pan and zoom to the area of interest.
4. Select a labelled subdivision to open its details.
5. Review Visibility, Cloud and Freezing Level, together with any additional conditions shown for the subdivision.

Current AIRMET boundaries and referenced forecast locations can appear on the map. Select an available item to read its associated text.

Apple 9.x

1. Open Weather > Graphical Area Forecasts.
2. Select 0-6 HR or 6-12 HR.
3. Zoom out for the regional overview, or zoom in until the individual subdivisions appear.
4. In the overview, select a forecast region to open the published GAF.
5. In the interactive view, select a subdivision to read its forecast text. References to the selected subdivision are highlighted.

Current AIRMET boundaries and referenced forecast locations can appear on the map. Select an available item to read its associated text.

Web

1. Open En Route.
2. Select Overlays > Weather > GAF.
3. Use the previous and next period controls to select the required validity period.
4. Select a labelled forecast area on the map.
5. Review Cloud, Icing and Turbulence, Surface Vis and WX and Freezing Level in the GAF details.
6. Use Selected or Area to change the scope of the details when that control is available.

The Web GAF overlay is available for the Australian YMMM region. Access depends on the signed-in account and subscription.

Copy forecast text

Apple

1. Open the required forecast details.
2. Touch and hold the forecast text to copy it to the clipboard.

This action is available for interactive forecast text, not the regional overview.

Open or print the published GAF

Apple

Open the published GAF page and select Print in the toolbar. Interactive subdivision details cannot be printed as a standalone GAF page. GAF pages may also be included in a route briefing.

Web

Select a forecast area, then select View to open the original GAF.
